Kia ora koutou,
What a great turnout at our Cross Country yesterday. It was great to see so many of our students trying really hard and supporting each other. Thank you for your support as well if you were able to make it. I would like to give a special mention to Marshall Steed, who kindly offers his farm for our use. He sets up a great course for us with a number of obstacles on the way around. Thank you also to our staff and helpers on the day, we couldn't do it without you.
Later this term, and into the next holidays we will be doing some work around the school. Part of LC3 and the Music room is being re-clad and painted, and LC5 and the Art room are also being painted. They are attempting to do as much as they can in the school holidays, but there may be some prep work being done beforehand.
Later in the year, we are also going to be doing some work in our middle playground (by LC4). Unfortunately, the Big A (old wooden structure) has begun to rot so we will be removing this. The Big A has been a popular feature of the playground for decades, so will be sadly missed. We are also having to remove the big tree in the playground as well. In place of these, we will be designing some new playground additions which will start to take shape early next year. We will shortly be engaging with playground designers to help design what will go in this space. Some of our students will be working on this design aswell. So, watch this space!
There is some great learning going on in classes, so if you haven't managed to pop in before or after school yet this term, I am sure your children would love to show you around.
Enjoy the remainder of your week.
